FULLERTON, CA – Two teenage boys are accused of plotting an attack on their school similar to Columbine.

The boys, who attend Troy High School, were detained this week for the plot, according to the Orange County Register.

Authorities asked to view the boys’ phones, which the teens handed over voluntarily.

Investigators said the phones showed the teens, who are both 16-years-old, had searched for weapons and researched the 1999 Columbine High School shooting.

Because the boys are underage, their names have not been released.

They are currently in a juvenile detention center.

The case will be turned over to the local district attorney’s office, which will decide whether to charge the teens.
