CHICAGO – Fifty-one murders occurred in the Windy City last month, according to the Chicago-Sun Times.
The total is one more than the number of murders that occurred in January 2016.
Police said there were 234 shootings in Chicago in January, eight fewer than the previous year. There were 299 shooting victims, eight more than the previous year.
Last month, President Donald Trump threatened to bring “the Feds” into Chicago if city leaders didn’t get control of the crime.
Trump followed-up on those comments on Wednesday morning, saying “Chicago is totally out of control” and if crime doesn’t fall “We’re gonna solve the problem for ‘em.”
